As they say in show biz, “the show must go on”, and last night, that it did. Other than adding a few pauses to the program to dry off the stage, the rain had little effect on our performance at Rosetree. Everyone pulled together after a long day of rehearsal and being in the heat to put on an absolutely beautiful show. Based on the simple fact that the rain didn’t scare anyone away, I think it is safe to say that the audience truly enjoyed it as well. There’s something I love about performing on stage, and I think this quote says it all: Then come the lights shining on you from above. You are a performer. You forget all you learned, the process of technique, the fear, the pain, you even forget who you are, you become one with the music, the lights, indeed one with the dance. For all of you who saw the show last night, thank you for bearing the bad weather and I hope you enjoyed it! - Emma Yasick, Brandywine Ballet dancer & blogger
