Martha’s artistry and talent have been an invaluable gift to Pennsylvania Ballet throughout her entire career” -Pennsylvania Ballet’s artistic director, Roy Kaiser

As the second week of our Summer Intensive begins, we welcome Martha Chamberlain to Brandywine. Dancing since the age of five and training at our very own Dance Center, as well as at the School of American Ballet’s summer intensives, she has been part of Pennsylvania Ballet since 1989. After dancing such leads as Katherina in “The Taming of the Shrew,” Myrtha in “Giselle,” Aurora in “Sleeping Beauty,” and Swanhilda in “Coppelia,”  she said good-bye to the stage this past April with a final performance of Balanchine’s “Who Cares?”. Though her performance days are over, her teaching days are certainly not. Not only do we have the pleasure of having her with us this week, but as a year-round instructor this upcoming season. More on the details of the second week of our Summer Intensive later, welcome Martha!
