The Nutcracker has come to a close for the 2010 season. It has been an amazing few weeks for me. I can’t begin to describe how happy I have been these past few weeks. Being in the theater for rehearsals, warm ups, and performances - it was completely amazing. I forgot how much I missed performing. Although it’s true, I always have a few nerves before performing…. Nevertheless, the stage is where I feel most like myself. Something that I forgot how much I missed was being with the other dancers. From the high energy of the dressing rooms to watching each other in the wings, the Brandywine Ballet is like a second family to me. It’s a gift to work with such talented and caring people. As Nutcracker winds down, I want to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication as well as the audiences for coming out to see us perform! Performing for the first time in a long time has been quite an experience. I have memories from this Nutcracker that I’ll remember for many Christmases to come and I hope you do as well! -Alexa
